To Embroider

Louise Goult is a British textile artist who creates research-based textile artwork from her studio in Saltburn by the Sea. Louise's work narrates hidden stories and memories, honouring and protecting them through stitch. Exploring connection to identity, people, personality and changing personas as well as the world around us, her work uses deconstruction and reconstruction techniques to tell the quirky, often overlooked stories and facts, re-building pieces much as a story is told and retold.

She is passionate about sharing textile and embroidery skills with workshops designed to enable you to create your own, unique artwork rather than a replica of her samples. You can find more about textile workshops here and her list of workshops this summer here.

One of the most interesting Substack accounts I have come across is elm garment care. Who I came across recently with their post about vintage care labels. Their posts are all about clothing care, as you would expect, but with beautiful imagery and great articles on care, wearing, storage. Well worth a peak for any textile geeks.

To Breathe

Sometimes you just need someone to tell you to stop, breathe and take in something lovely. danielle 𖦹 does this every time with her images, quirky take that is just a little bit different. One thing I like about Substack is that people recommend the accounts that inspire them, not because they have been paid to do so. So if you have any recommendations, please let me know.
