Firstly apologies for any confusion caused by the strange post yesterday. I had forgotten to update the draft. These are the highlights I was hoping to send out yesterday …
To Read
Last year I was lucky enough to meet Hana Towobola and to talk about our work we have been doing with Innovate UK with micro factories and the UK clothing industry. She was compiling the Sustainable Fashion Vocabulary which was published last month and is an amazing piece of work. It is the perfect reference tool for anyone interested in sustainability in fashion. You can find out more HERE.
To Paper
I am due to have hip replacement surgery in a couple of weeks and so have been looking for little projects that I can do in the weeks while I am recovering. I have found a few lovely little embroidery projects, am going to sort my stash of unfinished knitting projects and came across this paper project which I thought would be good to do. Amy Chen has a lovely little “how to” on her page HERE and Rose Pearlman (She’s Scrappy) has a great “Jacket Your Journal” how to but I do warn you that going onto her Substack will lead you into a whole host of fabulous things to make and try.
To Embroider
I have also been looking for embroidery projects and have come across these amazing sources of inspiration. Tessa Perlow uses found clothing to epicycle using embroidery and also has lovely ideas to use as inspiration, including little wall hangings that would make perfect gifts.
While I’m recovering, I am hoping to post my finds but please bear with me. Also if you have any recommendations for inspiration or simple projects to try, please let me know and I can share them on here. Have a good weekend and apologies again for the issue yesterday, Charlotte
