For art lovers and interior enthusiasts the North Yorkshire Open Studios event is not to be missed. An annual event enabling artists and makers to open their studios and sell their work direct to the public. The studios of over 100 working Yorkshire-based artists are located across the county, from the remote hills of the Upper Dales to the suburban streets of Harrogate, across the Vale of York to the rural North York Moors and Coast, visitors have the opportunity to visit unique and varied artist venues, surrounded by stunning North Yorkshire landscapes. The event is on the 6th, 7th, and 13th,14th June 2026 and for more details, please click HERE.
To Garden
One of my bucket list entries is to visit Kew Gardens sometime, hopefully soon. Officially known as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is a globally renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest London. Founded in 1759, it spans 326 acres and is home to the largest, most diverse botanical and mycological collections on the planet.
As well as the Living Collections which feature over 50,000 living plants, and a Scientific Hub, it’s must-see attractions include the Temperate House, Kew Palace, the Great Pagoda, and the striking paintings of the Marianne North Gallery as wells special events such as hosting seasonal displays, family trails, and large-scale outdoor exhibitions. To See
I have always been in awe of Marilyn Munroe and her softly spoken beauty and in celebration of her 100th birthday and in association with the Marilyn Monroe estate, Marilyn Monroe: A Portrait at the National Portrait Gallery will explore the life, career and legacy of Marilyn Monroe through portraits created by some of the greatest photographers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Bringing together works by a range of artists, the exhibition will show Monroe’s collaborative approach to image making and her creative agency. The exhibition will also include personal belongings such as scripts and clothes to enrich understanding of the woman behind the image. open from June 4th until 6th September.
As always, thanks for reading the Pocket Book this weekend and please let me know if there are any future events, exhibitions or just a shout out for your work and we will be happy to share on here. Have a good week, Charlotte.
